About Kristy

Hi, my name is Kristy Quinn, and I am the owner and pet sitter of Four Paws Companions™ LLC. I have been a volunteer pet sitter for as long as I can remember, caring for the pets of relatives, friends and co-workers. With my husband’s support, I decided to take a leap of faith, follow my heart and go into business fulfilling my lifelong passion – loving and caring for pets. I LOVE what I do! Caring for pets brings me tremendous joy – they are my one true love. And, I am blessed to be able to combine my life’s passion into what I do for a living.

Ever since I was a child growing up on a Nebraska farm, where we owned and enjoyed many animals, cows, horses, pigs, dogs, cats and even mice – they need love too. I have had a genuine love for animals, and I can’t remember a time in my life that they haven’t been a HUGE part of my life.

Like most people who start their own pet sitting business I am a true animal lover. As such, I have done a great deal of animal rescue over the years. Most recent, my husband and I volunteered with Hound Rescue Austin as part of their foster family program. We currently have 7 “dwruffs” (fur-children) – six beagles and a golden retriever. We are so blessed – they give us tremendous joy and in return we lavish them with love and the best care.

Some of my greatest joys have come through loving animals. I absolutely adore puppies. They are cute, playful, and full of potential, but there is something special about adult dogs that I truly admire. They have a grace and majesty that comes with age and experience. When you look into their eyes, you can see much of what they have seen. Adopt a puppy and you get a baby to nurture and guide; rescue a dog and you have a loyal companion for life. Either way you choose, the gifts you receive from loving them are tremendous.

Do you love cats? I do! I find these beautiful feline creatures so irresistible. Perhaps, like myself, you’ve owned a cat – or more likely been owned by one. You know the joy that cats can bring, even when they are deliciously obnoxious. Cats capture our hearts and enslave us with their charms. These beautiful creatures have a rare quality that we humans would do well to emulate; a large capacity to receive affection. Their gift to us is that they receive us totally.

Being a pet parent myself, I experienced firsthand the need to make sure my pets were in the best of hands possible at all times when I had to be away for long work days or traveling. I have always had extremely high expectations for the caretakers of my pets because they are beloved members of my family.
